Glasgow Highland Games 2016

The Worlds' Glasgow Highland Games is a great spectator event, with strong men and women gathering from countries around the world to compete in an awe-inspiring show of strength.

The competition begins at 12 noon with a parade and introduction to the athletes, until 4.45pm when the presentations are made.

This year's contest includes favourite events like stone putt, caber tossing, log boxing, the barrel carry and wrestling, and contestants include the Highlander World Champion, Britain's Strongest Woman and many more besides.

Brave audience members can get involved too! Men - Make your way to the Highland Games arena for 2.15pm to take your turn at the Manhood Stone Challenge and the Farmer's Walk. The Ladies Welly Throw begins at 4pm.
